the into ultra launch pad

Hear what Allie has to say

This October into ultra is starting its first ‘Into Ultra Launch Pad’.  We want to showcase how into ultra can work in real life to help you or someone you know to achieve something incredible.

We are looking to take on a new athlete to be fully supported on a journey from ‘couch to ultra’ and that athlete could be YOU. We will supply you with

  • an award winning running coach to design a plan and help you hit your targets with regular one to one check in’s and support
  • a main ultra event in 2025 - pick and event from one of our many partners to train for.  And possibly another build-up race or two.  Our coaches can help you do this!
  • a strength and conditioning programme and guidance from an expert personal trainer
  • kit, nutrition advice and tonnes of support.

Allie Bailey (National Running Show Coach of the year 2024) will be your coach for 12 months providing regular 1:1 guidance and advice to give you the very best chance of success and make sure you have a fab time. Alan Bateson (Running Monk Fitness) will design and support your strength programme and into ultra and it's partners will provide race entries, kit as needed, training, travel to National Running Show and other support – plus we’ll be your biggest cheerleaders!

We want to use this experience to document and showcase the journey to ultrarunning and the difference it makes to someone’s wellbeing. Every step of your training will be supported and covered on our socials – we want you to help inspire people and to showcase the support that into ultra can provide to get started.

The person we are looking for:

  • has done some running at some point - preferably 10km to half marathon or even a marathon - but not yet done an ultra
  • is fit enough (with training) to be able to complete an ultra (50km or more).  To let you into a secret – most people walk some or all of ultra events
  • wants to build up to an ultra and is willing to commit the time and energy required
  • lacks the disposable income to be able to fund this journey themselves
  • is comfortable and willing to communicate publicly about their experience on social media and also appear alongside us in person at the National Running Show on 25 or 26 January

If you are interested in applying then please complete this form by 20 October.  Any questions please email us at apply@intoultra.org.uk.
