We don’t have yet have fixed rules for who we will support but hopefully the description below will give you an idea of who we are looking to support and how to apply.
We want to try and get the biggest impact from the funds we have. Our plan for now is to focus on helping as many people as we can with a maximum support of a few hundred pounds per person. We are also looking for applicants for whom the financial support will make a genuine difference because they have limited money themselves.
We can cover a range of costs or find a free/discounted service for you. This might be race fees, coaching, kit, courses or travel. If there is something else you need financial support with do ask.
Our focus is ultrarunning in the UK – that’s normally above 50k (30 miles) - on roads, trails or mountain bogs. You don’t need to have a particular race you are aiming for. Our focus currently is helping people new to running longer distances. It doesn't matter whether you are a potential podium finisher or a back-of-the-packer.
We want to support inclusivity and welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
We encourage sustainable running so prefer running locally, using public transport and re-using kit. We are really pleased to be working with preloved sports and kitsquad who provide re-cycled clothing and equipment.
If you would like to apply then let us know (apply@intoultra.org.uk) in a few sentences :
We are always open for applications. We will try to reply to you in 1-2 weeks. If you prefer to just have a chat rather than applying by email let us know and we will set up a zoom call with one of the team.
We will not publish the names of those into ultra supports (unless you give us permission). We do ask that you tell us how things went – in part so we can improve what we do.
If you have any questions do email us.
